About the Services
North East Podiatry is a registered provider of NHS community Podiatry services with NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead patients only). As lead practice in the North East Podiatry group, North East Podiatry are fully accredited providers of podiatry care on behalf of the NHS in these areas.
The services aim to improve patient choice, improve patient mobility by reducing foot pain, improve patient foot health, reduce patient falls, promote self care and the prevention of foot problems, and guide patients to other services where required.
How to Access the Services
The services are available to all adults who meet the service criteria. Home and Nursing Home visits are also available if the patient is housebound.
To access the services patients will first need to see their own doctor or health care professional, who will then be able to refer you to us. There is no charge to the patient for these services or for the treatment itself.

The services provided on behalf of the NHS include the treatment and management of the following conditions:

- • Calluses
- • Fissures
- • Painful Verrucae
- • Wound Management
- • Nail Cutting (if unable to self care)
- • Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain)
- • Heel Pain
- • Painful Nail Conditions
About North East Podiatry
North East Podiatry is made up of four practices: North East Podiatry, The Sunderland Foot Clinic, The Westoe Practice, and The Chiropody Clinic Ltd. When you are referred by a GP or health care professional for podiatry care in the south of Tyne and Wear area you can choose to receive treatment at one of the North East Podiatry practices.
